2015 – Shortfilm “Languor of Life”

Director Wouter Hoes asked me to do the Sound Design for his shortfilm. It was also a great experience to work with Felix Pulmano as voice actor. The movie uses very few layers to convey it’s story, so the sound design also asked for a very minimal approach. Here’s the result:

2014 – 48 Hour Film Project Breda – “Gedicht”

Gedicht, or Ode, is the name of the shortfilm we made with Team Doewet again in March 2014. During this project I was the Composer and Sound Designer. The movie needed very atmospherical music with some razor sharp edges. During the Award Ceremony this movie was granted with Best Director and Best Sound Design for which I’m very proud.


2013 – 48 Hour Film Project Amsterdam Cinekid Filmfestival – “Plak Band”

In October I joined another 48 Hour Film Project team, Global Film Factory, during the Cinekind edition as Sound Designer and the film was nominated with best Sound Design. The film won 5 actual prizes and was there shown at the Filmapolooza Filmfestival in New Orleans.


2013 – 48 Hour Film Project Rotterdam – “Weg”

In August 2013 I joined Team Doewet in competing in the 48 Film Project Rotterdam as Sound Designer, handled the Audio Post Production and made the credits music.


2013 – The Phenomenon Group – “1221”

1221 takes place in a fully furnished eerie room where one can walk around to find a special object. The narrative is explained through binaural audio. As lead programmer and assistant sound designer on this out-of-control-schoolproject, I am technically responsible for throwing the player in a world of suspense and full immersion.

The Phenomenon Group is a team of game designers, interaction designers, sound designers and programmers who created the 1221 experience.

The audio team, consisting of Timothy Scheek and myself, had a few months to research the possibilities and limitations of implementing binaural audio in a free roaming world. The research basically taught us, that in this day and age, a next to perfect binaural reproduction in a free roaming setting is simply impossible. Thousands of sub-factors contribute to the quality of binaural audio. Alas, way too much to implement them all in a fully adaptive and interactive game environment where multiple distinguishable sound sources are needed.


2011 – Website sound design

For the audio post-productionstudio Soundcircus I made the music and sounddesign for their new portfolio website. It has a slight alienating feel to it, also made possible by the singing saw.
